My Lord Marquis,
I enclose herewith a copy of a letter addressed by our Agent
in Hong Kong, Mr.H.Wicking, to the Superintendent of the Government
Fire Brigade there and in view of the fact that this is the second
time on which we have been called upon to pay a claim for damages
caused by the use of defective hose I venture to ask that the attent-
ion of the Governor may be called to the matter with the object of
preventing a recurrence of these claims.
